No 18 Gallery

No.18 Gallery opened in 2006 in a lovely building in the market town of Driffield, East Yorkshire. The owner Karen Cross has been in the art & framing business for over 25 years and continues to show a unique range of images from a variety of artists and makers from Yorkshire and further afield.

Karen gained a B.A. Degree in Graphic Design at Maidstone College of Art in 1982 and went on to work at West Kent College in Tonbridge, Kent. During this period she was also an embroiderer and as well as working to commission she supplied outlets locally as well as Liberty of London (the 'One-off Department') and galleries in Bath & Farnham, Surrey. In 1988 she moved to Yorkshire and opened The Stable Gallery in Garton-on-the-Wolds near Driffield before setting up Strides Gallery with her sister Alison in Driffield town four years later.

The gallery closed at Christmas 2017 to take early retirement. I am still selling online where possible and working in conjunction with The Wooden House in Exchange Street, Driffield.
